Photo of the "Bomb" At NIPOST Abuja

Box of sand and ceramic tiles

The Nigerian Police Headquarters in Abuja has debunked the rumours of a Bomb threat near Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) in Abuja today. The spokesman for the Nigerian Police, Frank Mba, said that the package which was earlier believed to be a bomb, was just a mere box containing sand and ceramic tiles.

When a call for bomb threat reached the Nigerian Police, a team of Bomb Squad arrived the scene with their bomb diffusing equipment. This however threw a wrong conclusion to the people in the area that there was truly a bomb.

The Police Spokesman thanked the public for there swift reaction to alert the police but urged them to go on with their normal daily activities.
