CBN To Introduce N5000 Note 2013. Faces of 3 Nigeria Female Activists To Be On It

Faces To be on N5000 note

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the leadership of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has announced that there would be an introduction of N5000 denomination into the Nigerian system next year 2013.

We had some speculations earlier that CBN planned to use Nigeria's late former president, Umar Musa Yar'adua's face on the note, reports say that the 5000 Naira note will have faces of three late prominent female Nigerians on it.

The faces are late politician and social mobiliser, Margaret Ekpo (1914 - 2006);  late politician and activist Hajia Gambo Sawaba (1933 - 2001) and late politician and women's right activist Funmilayo Kuti (1900  -1978).

CBN also plans to convert N5, N10 and N20 notes to coins next year! Considering what happened to the last coins they introduced, Lets just say Bye Bye to them.

Best 2 say CBN 2 introduce more hardship in 2013! This I know Will lead 2 devaluing of d naira and inflation. Definately der will be nothing sold 4 N5, N10 and N20 cos dat denomination shall b no longer in exsistence. <br />(coins indeed mstcheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!)

I think our beloved country needs better things than introduction of 5000 naira note. Why Should CBN start thinking of devaluing the naira? They should have a rethink because the effect is hyper inflation and hardship.
