CBN To Introduce N5000 Note 2013. Faces of 3 Nigeria Female Activists To Be On It
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the leadership of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has announced that there would be an introduction of N5000 denomination into the Nigerian system next year 2013.
We had some speculations earlier that CBN planned to use Nigeria's late former president, Umar Musa Yar'adua's face on the note, reports say that the 5000 Naira note will have faces of three late prominent female Nigerians on it.
The faces are late politician and social mobiliser, Margaret Ekpo (1914 - 2006); late politician and activist Hajia Gambo Sawaba (1933 - 2001) and late politician and women's right activist Funmilayo Kuti (1900 -1978).
CBN also plans to convert N5, N10 and N20 notes to coins next year! Considering what happened to the last coins they introduced, Lets just say Bye Bye to them.

Dis is foolish
Dush bags...   whyyyyy coins ???
Best 2 say CBN 2 introduce more hardship in 2013! This I know Will lead 2 devaluing of d naira and inflation. Definately der will be nothing sold 4 N5, N10 and N20 cos dat denomination shall b no longer in exsistence. <br />(coins indeed mstcheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!)
Dis is absolute rubbish. Nigeria has numerious problems n not even one has been fully addressed n all d CBN governor thinks of doing is to compound our problems. MR President we know u're always thinking, but at dis point think twice n fast, cos dis country in no distant time will crash. Sanusi shd use his head 4 wot dey are met for oooooo
I think our beloved country needs better things than introduction of 5000 naira note. Why Should CBN start thinking of devaluing the naira? They should have a rethink because the effect is hyper inflation and hardship.
Please are we goin cashless in ds country? Cos introduction of 5000 naira notes doesn't show dt its a cashless society.#simply iranu
Vewi stewpid idea!ah totally disagree with it.dis z not hw to remember past leaders ,ah feel sorry 4 Nigeria.wat a pity
Pls dis rubbish should stop, what kind of inliterty are will have as leader, those that do not think about poorly people that are in there country. And this people call them self our known that Nigeria is among the country that are listed in people dat have poor masses. Pls My Leader let introduce back our old currency and stop introduce new note.pls
 Oh!my country u have suffered.
