Gov. Fashola Sacks Over 1000 Striking Doctors In Lagos

Governor Fashola

Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has sacked over 1000 doctors who had been on strike over the failure of the government to fully implement the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for all doctors in the state.

A dismissal letter prepared by the Personnel Management Board and signed by the CMD of LASUTH, Professor David Oke was sent to each of the striking Doctors.

The Lagos State government accused the Doctors of misconduct and absence from duty without leave.

The letter reads: “The committee therefore recommend your dismissal from service in accordance with the provisions of the civil service rule No 04502, 04507 and 04508. The board has therefore approved your dismissal”

“Therefore you are to convey the possession of the properties of the state government in your custody to the Chief Medical Director CMD.”

The doctors were fighting for CONMESS which is a nationwide pay scale for doctors in Nigeria put in place to check brain drain and wage disparity.

Lasgidi people....Did Fashola try?

Does Fashola think dat medical practice n politics can b compared as equal? Na person tell am mk e nor get dsame qualifications? Does he tink its easy to go thru wat they(doctors) went tru n still suffer minial salary? Lies. Wen our professionals run to d States to get better pay, we complain yet our worker are treated like slaves. He cld raise d fees of University bt can't comply wit doctors demand. Rubbish! Wat abt d students he automatically sent back to d streets due to d fees increase? Now he wants doctors to consider .Na story all of dem de find. Bad leaders . Dey giv u cap n cut of ur head
