Gov. Jang Tells Plateau Youths To Defend Their Villages
Governor Jonah Jang challenged residents of Plateau State, especially the youths, to form vigilantes in their villages and defend their people against intruders and attackers who come in slaughter them while asleep at night.
The governor made the call at the weekend while speaking on the security challenges of the state during the inaugural ceremony of his Redemption Campaign team at Korinjoh House, Dogon Karfe, Jos.
He said: “Go back to the villages and organise yourselves and start the neigbourhood watch against those coming to attack you in the night.”
Egyptian Man Names His Child "Facebook"
I suppose we'll never see a MySpace Smith or a Quora Doe (unless it's in a first-person sci-fi shooter on a gaming console), but Facebook can now add yet another "first" to its already impressive series of accomplishments: First child.
Facebook didn't have a baby. Rather, the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram is reporting that 20-something Jamal Ibrahim has decided to name his daughter "Facebook" Jamal Ibrahim in honor of the service that helped anti-government protests overthrow Egyptian dictator Muhammad Hosni Sayyid Mubarak.

Multiple award winner, Tuface Idibia, has said that he is tired of having children, even though he is not married to any of his girlfriends yet.
Speaking at the formal presentation of “New Milo” by Nestle Nigeria Plc at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, recently, Idibia, who was the guest star, told the audience which comprised students and their mothers in pidgin English that “I no dey give belle again” meaning he does not wish to impregnate any girl any more.

Nigerian Jailed For £1.3m Scam By UK Court
The Inner London Crown Court has sentenced a Nigerian immigrant, Olaide Taiwo, to eight-and-a-half years imprisonment for stealing the identities of 350 people to claim £1.3m in bogus tax credits.
In what was described as the largest benefit scam of its kind, Taiwo 35 was said to have hijacked the identities while working as a security guard for a number of large national companies, Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

OAU Shuts Down
The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in Osun State, yesterday shut down the institution indefinitely, following three days of violent protests by the students.
The students are protesting an increase in the acceptance fee for fresh students and health insurance fees. It started on Monday, with the students boycotting lectures.
