Stella Damascus Starts TV Show
In a short while from now, controversy-prone actress Stella Damasus will finally be back on your screens. No, not in yet another movie but as a presenter on a new TV show!
In a bid to ‘empower youths’, the stunning actress will be kicking off her own TV show tagged ‘Stella Damasus Art Foundation‘(SDAF), whereby ‘aspiring singers, actors and creative artists between the ages of 16 and 30, from all walks of life will be adequately trained, before presenting them to the world as experts in their fields’.
To this effect, Damasus’ reps say auditions for interested participants of the SDAF will run through Friday, April 29, 2011 to May 1, 2011 at Zamunda, Ologun Agbaje Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. After which 24 selected participants from each of the categories (drama, singing and fine arts) will immediately begin lectures on a free three-month course.
‘We have already contracted seasoned professionals that will lecture and train the students for that period of three months, after which they will be awarded with certificates. There are other benefits because some of them will be privilege to work us’, the award-winning actress stated.
Stella attributed the selection only a few candidates to inadequate resources and funding, but is looking forward to an expansion.{googleAds}

‘I would have loved to take more than 24 students from each of the categories, but the resources on ground for now can only cater for that number conveniently, hopefully we will hope to expand soon. The three-month course is free for all the participants’, Stella hinted.
The programme will be broadcast on two yet-to-be named Nigerian TV stations, as well as a Cable channel in the UK. However, earnest preparations are being put in place to ensure viewers will not be disappointed.
‘It will be aired on two stations in Nigeria and one in the UK, but we want to clarify some issues before we make it public‘, Stella’s manager tells NET.
The Stella Damasus Arts Foundation, which is a non-profit organization, was launched by the star actress as her way of giving young people in the society a chance to showcase their talents.
