Two improvised explosive devices (IEDS)  have been diffused by the Police at the male hostile of University of Uyo. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Etim Dickson, confirmed this incident saying that the explosives were home-made.

He also added that the explosives found in UNIUYO were made by science students of the university. He said “the incident has been properly taken care of, we urge students and employees of the institution to go about their normal businesses.”

The IEDs were discovered by the campus security squad known as Operatives of Peace on Campus Initiative (PCI).
