Udoh Johnson, a staff of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), was stabbed to death with a bottle after an argument in a local bar close to his house at Adinlewa street.

Udoh was said to have returned to the bar to collect his handset which he had forgotten while leaving. On his way in, he stepped on another customer which led to an argument.

The suspect by name Wale, reportedly threw away Udoh's handset. I no gree dey tear shirt, but in this case, I no gree escalated as Wale broke a bottle and stabbed Udoh to his death.

Police source said that the owner of the joint and some family members of the suspect have been picked up for questioning.

The state Police Command Image Maker Wole Ogodo confirmed that the deceased was stabbed by one Wale now at large during an argument.

Ogodo however explained that Udoh was stabbed on the leg and was  immediately rushed to the State Specialist Hospital, Akure for medical attention before he died while receiving treatment.

He said the corpse of the deceased was thereby deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

According to him the case has been trasfered to  the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigations.
