Police Deny Arresting Students Over Massacre at Fed Poly Mubi
The Police has debunked the news that they arrested some students for interrogation following the case of massacre at Federal Poly Mubi, Adamawa.
A spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Mohammed Ibrahim said, “It is not true and we have not arrested suspects of these killings, this is not true as it was widely reported in some media. We have not arrest anyone, even before this incident, we have been working seriously on security issues in Mubi. But we want clarity and fair reporting that should be accurate.”
He also added “Some went as far as saying the Commissioner of Police is Mustapha Mohammed Ibrahim, it is false, Commissioner’s name is CP Godfrey Okeke and I am PPRO, Mohamed Ibrahim. It is not true and they just said it. All we know is we are working underground and cannot expose what we are doing. At the right time, we will do so but we want the media and the general public help us by being accurate.”
Its is still not clear if the massacre by some unidentified gunmen that led to the death of more than 20 students is related to the Student Union Government elections in the school.
