Here are some more photos from the flood on Abuja-Lokoja expressway caused by an over-flow from River Niger. Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has announced the closure of the Lokoja-Abuja highway to ensure the safety of road users.

The rise on water level from River Niger at Banda Village which is 2 kilometers to Lokoja has made the movement of vehicles on the road difficult.

Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), on their own part have been on a rescue mission in Idah and Ibaji local governments.

An official of NEMA says "although some trapped victims had been rescued, so many people are still taking refuge on top of trees".
