Two yet-to-be identified men were assassinated this morning in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, by unknown gunmen in broad daylight.

An eye witness said that the gunmen overtook the victims' car and shot at them. They now returned after driving away for 20 metres to pump more bullets to ensure the victims were dead.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Fidelis Odunna, confirmed the incident on telephone and said investigation was underway.
