NIGERIA’S Emmanuel Emenike created history in Spartak Moscow’s colours after scoring a 10-second opener, the second fastest goal in the history of the Russian Premier League in the 2-1 away win over Alania on Saturday.
The previous fastest ever goal in the Russian top flight was scored by Alexey Bychkov in 1999. Then playing for FC Shinnik Yaroslavl, Bychkov got on the score-sheet after nine seconds.
Emenike, fired Spartak into the driver’s seat from close range via Artem Dzyuba's pass into the area when the match was just 10secs old to show their intent of grabbing a 10th domestic title this season.
The hosts replied positively, pinning Emenike and his Spartak pals back and pulled level 13 minutes later through midfielder Arsen Khubulov, who fired a rebound into the net after a corner.
But Spartak managed to score the winning goal with just four minutes of regular time when Alania defender Anton Grigoriev sent the ball into his own net in an attempt to clear Pavel Yakovlev's cross.
