Papilo, I know say one day you go make us proud! Kanu Nwankwo has showcased that on the field of play, now his achievements are being honored by the University of Jos on May 12th 2012, as they present the Green Eagles Captain with a honorary Master of Arts Degree for his achievements in the field of football and philanthropy.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Hayward Mafuyai made this known at a pre-convocation press briefing where he said the honor is in line with the new thinking of government to confer honorary degrees on only deserving people.
The VC said: ”This is in recognition, not only of his outstanding achievements in the field of sports, but also for his exemplary contribution towards the rehabilitation of many indigent Nigerian children with debilitating heart conditions through his Kanu Heart Foundation. This has enabled many of them to recover and return to pursue their education”.
