The nominations for the 83rd annual Academy Awards (Oscar) were announced on Tuesday, January 25th 2011.

The annoucement took place at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles, California and was made by President Tom Sherak and last year’s Best Supporting Actress winner Mo’Nique.

Winners will be announced on February 27th in a ceremony that will be hosted by popular actress Anne Hathaway and one of this years nominee, James Franco.
