The American singer Nathaniel Dwayne Hale better known by his stage name Nate Dogg is dead. He died on Wednesday, March 16, 2010 at the age of 41. This was confirmed by the California daily newspaper, Press-Telegram.

‘Nathaniel D. Hale, known in the music industry as Nate Dogg, died Tuesday, his family announced. The rap star, born and reared in Long Beach, Calif. was 41. Cause of death is not known. However, Hale had suffered two strokes, one in 2007 and another in 2008‘, the newspaper posted on their website a few hours ago.

Nate Dogg an Ex US Marines Corp, was born in Long Beach California and grew up there singing in the church choir where his father preached in. In 1991, he formed a a group with fellow California rappers Snoop Dogg and Warren G called 213 (named after 213, the area code of Long Beach). His influence on the group’s kind of music was phenomenal as his trademark singing style made them instant fan favourites.{googleAds}

But it was the 1994 classic West Coast anthem with Warren G ‘Regulate‘, that saw Nate Dogg’s career blossom as he went on to be an essential ingredient to making anyWest Coast hit. Nate soon became a priceless commodity in the music scene as any song he graced with his laid back West Coast style became a notable hit. Dr. Dre‘s ‘Next Episode‘, 50 Cent‘s ‘21 questions‘, Ludacris‘ ‘Area codes‘ are just a few to mention.

His 2001 album ‘Music and Me‘ released under Elektra Records has been called a classic West Coast effort and till date is still being played like it was released recently.

The ‘hook master’ released three studio albums before his death and was featured on over 120 songs.
