FG Approves 5 Year Jail Term For Students Caught Cheating During WAEC Exams



Are you a professional dubbing machine? Do you carry expo a.k.a ngbo a.k.a bullet for spiritual assistance in an exam? Here is a bad news for you, Minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyat Rufai, announced that students caught doing exam malpractice in WAEC would face a five year jail term or N200,000 fine, or in some cases, both.

This was made known in Abuja on Wednesday while briefing State House Correspondents on the outcome of the weekly FEC meeting. It states that:

“(Any candidate caught cheating) shall not take or be allowed to take or continue the examination; in addition, he shall be prohibited from taking any examination held or conducted by or on behalf of the Council for a period of two years immediately following upon such contraventions. If a candidate aforesaid has already taken any papers at the examination, his result therefrom shall be cancelled. In addition, the candidate may be prosecuted and if found guilty, shall be liable on conviction to a fine of N200, 000 or imprisonment for a term of five years or to both such fine and imprisonment.”

Carrying expo had never been my calling, the day i try am, I was shaking like barbing salon clipper wey dem plug for generator. I wont say I never girraffed before sha. But next time you guys do it.... Na N200,000 matter be that oh.. Kukuma fail the exam pay small money write am again.

The punishment does not fit the crime, in as much I detest any form of exam cheating. We cannot criminalized our children just because of exam malpractice.
