President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday admitted that the initial presence of former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) in the presidential race gave him a cause for worry. Jonathan who stated this at his presidential campaign rally in Minna, noted that IBB commanded a good political followership across the country and would have given him a good run for his money if he had forged ahead with his ambition.
The Inner London Crown Court has sentenced a Nigerian immigrant, Olaide Taiwo, to eight-and-a-half years imprisonment for stealing the identities of 350 people to claim £1.3m in bogus tax credits.
In what was described as the largest benefit scam of its kind, Taiwo 35 was said to have hijacked the identities while working as a security guard for a number of large national companies, Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

Multiple pre-dawn explosions rocked opposition offices in oil-rich southern Nigeria, the latest in a wave of attacks ahead of April elections, police and the party said Monday.
